Description:

The AVID Tutor Training Workshops enhance the skills of tutors by modeling and practicing effective tutorial group strategies, developing higher order questioning techniques and providing an opportunity for tutors to discuss and solve problems.

Audience:

This workshop is for AVID tutors and AVID coordinators/teachers.

Outcomes:

Identify roles and responsibilities of classroom AVID tutors
Lead an effective tutorial group
Employ Socratic questioning techniques to help students attain mastery of material
Communicate effectively with students
