AVID Bay Region IV Workshops/Events


AVID Bay Region IV Workshops are designed to provide ongoing staff development for AVID teachers/coordinators and site team members. The workshops are open to any site, district, or county representatives who are interested in learning more about AVID methodologies and curriculum. If you want more information about how schools are implementing the program, please call the Region IV AVID Center at (925) 942-5349 or (925) 942-5395 for more information.


Registration Instructions:
To enroll in one of the following AVID events, please click the "register" button next to the event you're interested in, then click on "AVID" on the right and complete the registration process. If you have any problems, please send an e-mail to gschroeder@cccoe.k12.ca.us. Deadline to register is one week prior to the event.

This meeting counts for one of your Site Team Meetings for the year, provided you are not attending alone.

Continental breakfast and lunch/dinner provided. Region 4 will reimburse substitute costs for 2 pre-registered participants up to $150 each for each AVID site.

Deadline to register is one week prior to the meeting.

AVID Path Training

The AVID Path® series features a rigorous, sequential curriculum that promotes student achievement at the highest levels. You could say it’s the pathway to student success. Based on the teacher-developed, classroom-proven AVID program, it offers guides and materials for teachers who want to help students fulfill their potential and get to college.

Who Should Attend:

  • AVID teachers interested in enhancing their skills in content areas
  • Content area teachers not trained in AVID methodologies

What’s Offered: (Registration limited to 25 in each subject area)

  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • English/Language Arts
  • History/Social Science
  • Critical Reading
  • Tutorology Day 1 of 2 (only for AVID teachers)

Why You Should Attend:

  • Learn strategies that will increase access to your content area.
  • Participate in breakout sessions and receive sample lessons.
  • Participants will receive a subject appropriate Path book.
