AVID Bay Region IV Workshops/Events

AVID Bay Region IV Workshops are designed to provide ongoing staff development for AVID teachers/coordinators and site team members. The workshops are open to any site, district, or county representatives who are interested in learning more about AVID methodologies and curriculum. If you want more information about how schools are implementing the program, please call the Region IV AVID Center at (925) 942-5349 or (925) 942-5395 for more information.

Tutorial Training Who Should Attend? AVID Elective Tutors Description The AVID Tutorial Training Workshop teaches tutorial skills by modeling and practicing effective tutorial group strategies, developing higher order questioning techniques, and providing an opportunity to discuss and solve problems. Participants Will Learn How To Identify roles and responsibilities of AVID tutors Lead an effective tutorial group Employ Socratic questioning techniques to help students attain mastery of material Communicate effectively with students A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
