AVID Bay Region IV Workshops are designed
to provide ongoing staff development for AVID teachers/coordinators
and site team members. The workshops are open to sites implementing the AVID elective. If you want more information
about how schools are implementing the program, please call the
Region IV AVID Center at (925) 942-5349 or (925) 942-5395 for more
information.
Registration Instructions: To enroll in one of the following AVID events, please click the "register" button next to the event you're interested in, then click on "AVID" on the right and complete the registration process. If you have any problems, please send an e-mail to moka@cccoe.k12.ca.us. Deadline to register is one week prior to the event.

Who Should Participate?
Avid elective teachers and any content area teachers who are looking to implement more technology into their instruction and student work.
Workshop Highlights:
Google Docs in the AVID and content area classrooms to promote teacher-to-student and student-to-student collaboration
Survey building to assess student needs and information.
Resources for teaching SAT prep and building vocabulary
Internet sites for multimedia and project-based learning
Fun tools for classroom management
Creating online "classroom conversations" about AVID topics, college topics, and more!
Supporting Heritage and Native Speakers using AVID strategies
What an Academic Program looks like for EL Students
Participants receive a copy of AVID Write Path English Language Learners teacher guide.
Workshop Specifics:
Cost of workshop is $40. Please make check or PO payable to Contra Costa COE-Region IV AVID and mail to Region IV AVID Program, CCCOE, 77 Santa Barbara Rd. Pleasant Hill, 94523.
Continental breakfast and lunch provided.
Region IV AVID will reimburse for substitute costs for up to 2 participants per site for up to $150 each, not to exceed $300 per site. This is for pre-registered participants only.
